Condolences

Condolence From: Rocky and Kathy Johnson
Condolence: We have been friends of the family for almost forty years. We have known and loved "Aunt Tootie" as the old time friends called her for her graciousness and warmth. Aunt Tootie loved her family and friends often inviting us to large gatherings at her home on Whidbey Island where she would prepare huge meals and insisted on everyone having dessert. We hope Estelle rests easy now.

Condolence From: Lisa C. (Johnson) Willott
Condolence: It was a pleasure to know Estelle, a first cousin of my late husband, E. William (Bill) Johnson. We were guests of Estelle, her loving husband, Ray, and her visiting son, Denny, for a lovely evening at their home on Whidbey Island in about 2001. We also saw Estelle and Ray again when they came to visit her aunt, my mother-in-law, Viola, in Silver Spring, Maryland, several years ago.

Estelle served as the official family genealogist, efficiently recording all the births, deaths and general history. (My son, Logan, has also done much genealogical research on her maternal ancestors, the St. Martins.)
I just learned that Estelle had been an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. This makes her even more dear to my heart as our family, including my late husband, our two sons, Karl and Logan, and I were all very active in boy scouting, camping and enjoying the great outdoors, too, as was Estelle; I deeply appreciate her unselfish service to such a worthy organization! I didn't know her well, but I know that our family and those who ever knew Estelle have lost a generous, dedicated and energetic lady; may she rest in peace! My husband, Jim, and I send our condolences to Ray and all of their families from Nokomis, Florida.

Condolence From: Betsy Benson DeVault
Condolence: Many wonderful childhood memories I have of my Aunt Estelle. However, at this point in time my heart goes out to my cousins and Mr. Ray, as I know your hearts are heavy. It is never easy to let go of the one we love so much. Fond memories will help ease the loss, and keep their memory alive in our hearts. May our Good Lord be with and provide comfort to each of you. In my thoughts and prayers - Cousin Betsy, Hemingway, South Carolina
