Condolences

Condolence From: Robert Lehmann
Condolence: Devastated by this news. An old friend who I had not seen in over 50 years, but had been in touch with for the last 6 or 7.

My deepest condolences and regrets to Marcus.

Condolence From: Luella Golder
Condolence: Jim & I would like to send our condolences to you Marcus, and your family, in memory of your mother, who was my friend and co-worker in the late 90's. I worked closely with her and Tony Popp, in the production of the Crosswind paper. She was always kind to me and in later years, as we would accidentally see each other around town, always had time to stop and chat about our families. Who knew that she would become my grandchild's step-grandmother? Over the years, I grew to respect her greatly, so was pleased that she was able to be in Chloe's life. Again, sending warmest thoughts of fond memories of her. She made my life richer just by being.

Condolence: Even though it's been 14 years since we moved from Whidbey Island, I feel like I could always pick up where we left off with Eileen. She was such a wonderful person to work with, we had so much fun in the old days of "paste up" with the Crosswind. I remember chatting about different tv shows we watched, both of us a fan of night time soap operas! She called me the night I was in labor with my son Chris, just to send me her best thoughts and see how things were going. She was a special person, I wish I had been able to see her more recently.

Condolence: Marcus your mom was well loved by so many in our community and especially all of us that worked with her over the years.
She adored you, and spoke of you all the time - my heart breaks for you and your family at this time.
The whole Island is going to miss her column "Still Talking". We at the Whidbey Weekly are going to miss her stopping by the office. Our kaffeeklatsch group of women who used to work together is going to miss her at our once a month coffee. And I am going to miss a dear woman who has been very good to me for 23 years.
Rest in Peace Sweet Eileen.

Condolence From: John & Jo Hellmann
Condolence: We knew this caring and courageous woman for over 30 years and were shocked and saddened to hear of her passing this weekend as John had just seen her Thursday about her computer. She wanted so much to write a final column. She surmounted so many struggles in her life yet was always there to help others. Rest in peace sweet lady; may wonderful memories comfort your family.
