Obituary for Coletta Marie Walsh

Coletta Marie Walsh passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 56 years of age. Coletta was born in Oak Harbor, WA on August 8, 1958 to Ralph B. and Ema Lou Houser, joining older brothers Ralph and Rick, and eventually younger brother David. She grew up in Oak Harbor.
After graduating from high school, she made her home in Port Hueneme and San Diego, CA before moving back to Oak Harbor to stay. Along her journey she had four children, Patrick, Katherine, Timothy and Joseph.

Coletta was employed for a time at the Oak Harbor Tavern and then with a private agency providing home health care. She sustained an injury which prevented her from returning to work. She was a breast cancer survivor, but in 2013 a different cancer was diagnosed which eventually caused her early death.

Coletta loved reading, knitting, gardening, cross stitch, collecting agates and Judge Judy. She had an infectious laugh, a big heart, and a great sense of humor.

Coletta is survived by her long-time companion, Steven Sherod and children, Patrick Wilson and Katherine Ebert of Oak Harbor, Timothy Walsh of Alaska, and Joseph Walsh of Florida. Also surviving are brothers Ralph (Julie) Houser of Vancouver, WA and David Houser of Germany. Coletta was preceded in death by her parents and brother Rick.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 3:00 pm at Wallin Funeral Home.
