Condolences

Condolence From: Frank & Lisa Cambria
Condolence: Lisa and I wish to express our most heart-felt sorrow to the family and friends of Betty Gewald. She was a most special person who has positively influenced countless lives, including my own. Her devotion to "family" was complete and known by all. Bill and their children Robert, Tony and Jeanette truly adored her.

Betty was an amazingly gifted and talented woman. She has enriched the lives of untold numbers of people by being their wise and always well-informed friend. She could also be quite humorous and her joyous laughter would be heard for a considerable distance. All who knew her enjoyed listening to her stories of the many global adventures and experiences she and Bill had in faraway places, about which most people have only read.

I first met Betty in 1975 as my soon-to-be mother-in-law of 17+ years. I must admit that I was rather intimidated by her powerful personality for the first few years. As we got to know each other, she, Bill and I shared much laughter during family visits, and I truly felt as part of the Gewald family. I felt the same long after the divorce of her daughter and me. A decade later, Betty welcomed my new bride (Lisa) and me into her home along with the rest of her family.

Betty was an uncommonly inspirational Grandmother to Jeanette and my daughters, Lauren and Amanda. In turn, both of them adored Grandma Betty.

I cherish the many memories I have of both Betty and Bill. Betty was truly a unique and very genuine person, and I am pleased that she had an eventful 92 years on this earth.

She will be missed.
