Condolence From: Dominic DiLorenzo, CPO, USN, RET
Condolence: To the Andoy Family, Mrs. Caridad Andoy, Daughters, Arlene, Audrey and Kathy. It was my honor to serve with Master Chief Andoy. He set a really high bar for us to reach and with assistance and some time kick in the butt most of us got there. I owe a debt of gratitude to him that I will never be able to repay but I will not stop trying. By doing what he did for so long, guiding young men and women, making sure they are ready for all the Navy has to offer. God Bless Tony and your family.

Condolence: Words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of this giant of a man. Tony Andoy was truly one of a kind...the brightest and most inspiring Navy man I have ever met. Without a doubt, Tony was the best hire I ever made. When he joined the TARP program, he became the Godfather to all of us. My sincerest sympathy to his family. I will miss you terribly Tony, but never forget you and all that you did for our Navy and our country. God Bless my friend.

Condolence: First thing that comes to mind when I think about Tony Andoy, two words, smart and leader. He was a truly smart Logistician. His opinion and advice were always well sought not just by enlisted individuals in the navy but also by high ranking officers as well. His reputation as a “get things done” leader was remarkable and has been his hallmarks all throughout his exemplary navy career. In his earliest days in the navy, he could be ruthless at times. His standards were so high that he expected everybody to perform the same. He mellowed down quite a bit in his last few years in the active duty but nonetheless, he still demanded nothing short of excellence within the navy standards. One of his most outstanding qualities was his eloquence in his writing ability. I had a chance to read some of his trip reports and inspection recommendations while attached to COMFAIRWESTPAC in Atsugi, Japan when he was in charge of the Special Projects in Supply. His technical expertise was always evident but adding humor to some of his observations would create an additional admiration to his knowledge of the craft as well as his extra special ability to motivate and persuade other people. Common sense was always a big part of his observations which a lot of us, sometimes, tend to ignore. Tony’s legacy in the Logistics world would be extremely missed.

With regard to his family, he has done an excellent job in raising three wonderful daughters and have all of them finished college with his hard work and sacrifices. I know his wife Carina will be forever grateful for his generosity and being an outstanding provider to his family.

On behalf of our entire family, please accept our deepest and sincerest condolences.

Fair winds and following seas!!

Condolence: My deepest condolences to Tony Andoy’s family for his passing. Tony was a good friend, a shipmate, and mentor. I am honored to have served with him on the USS Carl Vinson. He was truly a blessing to the hundreds of sailors he has lead, mentored, and guided. He will surely be missed. His memory will live on for years to come. Farewell shipmate.
