Obituary for Cherry Powers Sigrist

Cherry Powers Sigrist was born July 12, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Raymond and Carol Powers. She passed away quietly December 16, 2017.
She grew up in Salt Lake City and attended University of Utah. Cherry met her husband Edward at First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City. They resided in Salt Lake City where their first two children, Raymond and Margaret, were born. They moved to San Pablo, CA where their third child, Mark, was born. Then they moved to Rancho Cordova, CA where their daughter, Carol, was born. After living for 12 years in California they moved to Tacoma, WA and after a few other moves they ended up in Coupeville.
Cherry was very active in her church communities serving as secretary in many churches. She was involved in UMW and participated in many women’s church activities. She loved to make quilts and to weave, knit and do other hand crafts.
Cherry was a wonderful giving person, always putting others first. She will be greatly missed.
Cherry is survived by her four children, Raymond Sigrist, Mark Sigrist, Carol Sigrist Borgens, Margaret Sigrist Livermore, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, her sister Janet and brother Raymond.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Pacific Northwest Art School or to the Coupeville United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
