Obituary for Catherine Jeanette "Cathy" Wilburn

Catherine (Cathy) Jeanette Wilburn, age 52, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville, WA. She was born on May 27, 1964, in Camp Zama, Japan to John and Noboku Wilburn. They moved to Oak Harbor in 1965, where she grew up attending elementary, middle and high school. She was a proud graduate of Oak Harbor High School in 1983. A big highlight in her life was participating in the Special Olympics (1972-2017). Cathy loved music and writing, and especially loved the music of Josh Groban. She recently became a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, where she was well loved and welcomed. She is survived by her parents, John and Noboku, older sisters and brother, Margie, Jack and Nancy, 5 nieces and 1 nephew and 5 great nieces and 1 great nephew, plus many other family members. Services will be held at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 201 NE O’Leary St., Oak Harbor, on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
