Obituary for William Houlet "Bill" Henry

William “Bill” Houlet Henry, Sr., son of Rube Melton Henry and Lena Lee Henry, born in Sunflower, Mississippi on September 1, 1935. At age 17 William enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1952 and retired in 1972. He then worked as a Civil Service Fireman at NAS Whidbey, until his retirement in 1992.
William married Pauline Kahawai in 1954 until 1977. In 1981 he married the “Love” of his life, Mary Jean Phillips until he was laid to rest February 26, 2018 with his loving family around him.
William had seven children: William H. II, Barbara L., Ronald M., Clayborn W., John C., Linda A. Detlor, Audrey Arancio., and step daughter Sherry Phillips. He also had 26 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and still counting.
He was preceded into heaven by his mother and father, and his siblings: Hualk, Charles, Inez, Helen, Pauline, and Marie. He still has a living sister Shirley Mae Henry-Alford.
The Henry family suggests memorials may be made in Henry’s name out to Whidbey Health Hospice for the great care they provided Bill and the Henry family.
A private service will be held in the summer at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
