Bernadine Marie "Bernie"  Arbuckle
Bernadine Marie “Bernie” Arbuckle passed away Monday, June 25 at Home Place Memory Care in Oak Harbor, WA

Bernie was born September 12 1925 to Edward and Simone (Fortin) Fisher in Burlington WA. She grew up in Burlington where she graduated from High School. In 1945, shortly after graduation she met and married her sweetheart Jim Arbuckle. Bernie and Jim then moved to Oak Harbor. After their children were all raised Bernie worked for the Navy Exchange at NAS Whidbey for a period of time. Jim's retirement brought them to Montana and they spent 14 years there until moving back to Oak Harbor to be near family.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Simone Fisher, her husband Jim, and a grandson Kevin Arbuckle.

Mom is survived by her son Jim (Sharon) of Oak Harbor, son Tom (Patty) of Olympia, daughters Anne (Gerald) Iszler of Renton, and Mary (Ronald) Sauer of Charlotte N.C. She is also survived by brothers Ronald Fisher of Redmond WA, and Fred (Becky) Fisher of Gettysburg, PA; a sister Virginia (Bruno) Bourgeois of Florida; her grandsons Mark, Jeff and Matt Arbuckle, John and Chris Thomas, Jeremy Sauer; granddaughters Kari Habeck, Renee Goltz, and Meghan Arbuckle, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation shall be at Wallin Funeral Home Friday, June 29 from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Bernie’s life will be held Saturday, June 30 at 10 am, St. Augustine Catholic Church in Oak Harbor, WA, with Father Jerry Kienzle presiding. A reception will follow. Rite of Committal will take place, after the Funeral Mass, at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, WA.
