My condolences to all of his family. Clark was one of my mentors and a great example of EOD for us all to strive to be like. May he Rest In Peace. Prayers to all his loved ones.

I was honored to have been his dive buddy several times. He was a kind and thoughtful mentor to many of us young guys in the late '70s. Fair winds, blue skies and warm waters, Gunner.

Margie and me both worked at the Oak Harbor Post Office and that’s how I met Clarke. I never had the honor to serve with him but knew right away after meeting him, that this was a man of integrity, truth and strength. A good man, a better human being. We need more like him. I’ll treasure the few memories I have of him.

Clarke worked in Kuwait with me and was very supportive in tough conditions. I know he will be missed. Rest In Peace, brother.

I was saddened to hear the loss of this great American hero. I never had the honor to serve alongside Clarke, but I did get to meet and hang out with him while I served at EODMU ELEVEN Det Whidbey Island back in early 90’s. I was totally surprised to learn that it was Clarke in the old EOD recruiting video “Bomb Squad USN” (https://youtu.be/xtczkXtxPlk). He was the guy in the video responsible for carrying and placing the “Universal Safe’ing Device” on the mine. I remember asking Clarke about this unique device and he told me it was just a prop they made for the video. It was nothing more than a wooden box with a couple handles, gauges and switches. LOL.
As another great and unforgettable member of our EOD community passes into history, I wish the George family all the comfort that prayers can provide and all the respect that Clarke’s life and valor deserve. Hooyah Clarke! Hooyah!

Clark George recruited me at Det Kings Bay in 1985. A great and patient man who I never had the honor to serve alongside, but who was very highly regarded and respected by all who served with and knew him. RIP Clark.

I had the distinct honor of serving with Clark, not only on active duty but, as a civilian contractor in Bosnia. Clark always had your back! Thanks for serving shipmate... you will always be remembered as a "Sailor's Sailor".
