Peter D. Keogler
As a former shipmate who served with Captain Bull both on the USS San Jose (AFS-7) in Alameda and Guam and the USS Constellation in San Diego it is with deepest sympathy that I just heard of his passing. I just went through some old pictures and found a picture from the Change of Command Ceremony In Guam. I was the duty driver that morning and took him from the hotel to the ship and we had a great conversation. Her said he enjoyed me as part of the crew and hoped we would be on the same ship someday again. Less than a year later I was on the Constellation and he saw me in a passageway finding my way around and he immediately greeted me and briefly showed me to my workspace. This despite the numerous crew members onboard an aircraft carrier. Anyway I cherish the memories and he was able to congragulate me on making Chief Petty Officer before he transferred. I saw him once more in passing after he made Admiral. I still remember the great times on the San Jose especially when we first arrived in Guam. He will be missed.
