Condolence From: Pamela Miles
Condolence: I am sorry for your loss. Lana Rae was an amazing woman. I knew her as the parent educator of our preschool cooperative and she saved my sanity many times with her wise and helpful advice about parenting preschoolers. I have not seen her for many years but I am not surprised that she touched so many people's lives in her successful career. I am sure she was a wonderful grandmother. She left the world too soon.

Condolence From:
Condolence: To Cliff and the Lenz family,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Lana Rae. I remember her coming into the offices of Seattle Today back in the day, always with a smile. I also remember Cliff telling me of the wonderful times they had when they first were together. Riding a BMW through Europe sounded like one of the coolest things anybody could ever do and I could see the joy in Cliff's face just telling me the story. Unfortunately, our daughter is sick and we can't get out of our driveway because of the snow, so we won't be able to attend her memorial. Maybe there can be another when the weather is a little more favorable? If not, please know both Erren and myself are thinking of you and the boys, Cliff. Again, our sincere condolences.

Condolence: I was shocked and saddened to read of the recent passing of Lana Rae. I worked with Lana Rae at King TV shortly after I graduated from the UW in the 70s. It was my first real job. I’m not sure she was aware of how much she influenced me in both my personal and professional lives. She had very high standards and I learned much from her that stayed with me through my life. I regretted not letting her know this but our lives went in different directions. I learned today that Lana Ray lived on Whidbey. I moved to Whidbey recently. Life is full of missed connections. My heartfelt condolences to Cliff and her family.

Condolence From:
Condolence: An important part of Lana Rae's career was missing from her obituary. She taught at the Capitol Hill Cooperative Preschool in the mid-seventies when our son David was fortunate to attend. He and we, his parents, gained so much from this very positive experience. Lana Rae was wonderfully caring, so skilled in every way and such a joy to work with. She made a difference in many families' lives during her years at the co-op preschool. We are forever grateful. We'll always remember Lana Rae. Our heartfelt sympathy to her family from Nancy and Charles Bagley

Condolence From:
Condolence: I was one of Lana Rae's students 50 years ago and still remember what a difference she made in my, and all of her students' , lives. She was everyone's "favorite" teacher because she cared so deeply and was so passionate about all she taught. Her enthusiasm, positive approach and her high standards made her such a stand out teacher and person. She believed we could do what ever we set out to do and was there to support and encourage us every step of the way. I had the privilege to meet her for lunch last summer with a group of her Shorecrest students from the 60's and we were reminded of her dynamic personality and radiance. She shared many of her amazing life stories and I was struck at what a life well lived she created and enjoyed. I give my sympathy to all of her family, who will miss her so much.
All of us, whose lives were touched by Lana Rae, will miss her and remember her.
With caring sympathy,
Julie Boyd

Condolence From:
Condolence: I met Lana Rae as a producer of Public Affairs programming. She and the department director, Emory Bundy were the early builders of a department that grew over time to great significance in local broadcast history. I enjoyed watching romance bloom at the station between Lana Rae and Cliff. After leaving the station her work in founding the Children's Museum was significant. My grandsons love it there today! Thank you to Lana Rae - you are a person who made a difference in your lifetime and beyond!

Condolence: We remember Lana Rae so fondly for her expertise in teaching preschoolers and our daughter Molly in particular many years ago at the Capitol Hill Preschool Coop. She was loving, genuinely warm in her caring for all the children and had a zest for life and trying out things that carried over to all.

Condolence: Cliff, I did some calligraphy for you a couple of years back - a gift to Lana for your anniversary, I believe. I just read her obituary in the Times. I am so sorry and wanted to let you know. May your memories of your many years together bring solace to you. Claudia Fuller

Condolence From: Rebecca Wilson Thiel
Condolence: My most sincere sympathies to Lana Rae's family (although she will always be Miss Tussing to me.) A truly exceptional teacher who made a lasting impression on a new student from a small town in the South. The world has lost one of the special ones.
