Obituary for Barbara Ann Roth

Barbara Ann Roth passed quietly in her home on May 3, 2014 after battling cancer and diabetes for over 15 years.

Barb was born Oct 7, 1953 to Don and Janet Lavon Roth at Fort Lawton, Seattle, WA. She was raised in Port Angeles and Pullman, WA, Livermore, CA, Kirkland and Bellevue, WA, and graduated from Hazen High School, Renton, WA, in 1971.

Barb then ventured out on her own and shared or individually lived in the Seattle, Los Alamos, NM, and the Whidbey Island area. She was employed in a variety of jobs including production line assembly, quality control, packaging, liquor sales, and briefly, as an aide/caregiver in nursing homes. Company she worked for included Paul’s Cheesecake, Physio Control and Boeing Commercial A/C Wire Shop.

Despite the variety of jobs and locations, Barb’s real love in life was planning events with family or friends and her craft projects. She loved promoting reunions, anniversaries, and parties including party favors and meal preparation. Frequently announcements or photo displays included her craft skills. She spent many hours preparing albums for family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her parents Don and Janet, brothers, David (Sandy) Roth of CA, and Steven Roth and a sister, Kathy (Jeff) Nelson, of ID. Also surviving are a cousin, Jean Roth and nieces Sarah Roth and Amy Reyes and nephews, Donald Roth and Jason Nelson.

Graveside services for Barb will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 am at Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, WA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wallin Funeral Home. Please visit Barb’s Book of Memories page on the funeral home website at www.wallinfuneralhom.com.
