Condolences

Condolence From: Patty Kellogg Deitz
Condolence: Yesterday was tearful, Jeanette will be missed, but she was already an angel on earth, if only everyone could have met her, and how wonderful for those of us who did know her. I met her at the age of nine, and thought she was the nicest lady ever, her sparkling eyes, wonderful smile and sweet voice, Jeanette was the cashier at the grocery store on main street in downtown O. H., all the neighborhood kids went there to buy candy and she always greeted us by name, making a "kid" feel welcome. On our way to the city beach, we would stop just to wave or open the door and yell, "hi Jeanette", she would always take time to say something positive, it's those lasting childhood memories that mean so much. Then, my Dad met Jim , and they started working in the woods, cutting trees to sell, it was a week-end job, as Dad worked for the Navy, and I think Jim was still in the Navy. It was like a Cinderella story for me, Jim & Jeanette were both beautiful people (inside & out).We moved to Mt. Vernon when I was thirteen, so I left my O.H. friends behind, but not forgotten. My parents kept in touch, and as the years went by, Christmas cards were always exchanged, I remember my parents talking about Jim & Jeanette, they always were special friends to them. We moved next door to my parents in 1992, so when Jim & Jeanette stopped to visit, they brought them to see our new mobile home we had just moved in. How the years fly by, raising kids, grandkids, taking care of parents, spouses and working!! Then, when people we love (family & friends) start their journey to Heaven, we feel sad that we thought about them, but didn't take the time to visit them , but we can't live with regret, so I look forward to seeing Beautiful Jeanette again. Sending this note with Love to all of the family , Patty & Daryl

Condolence From: Lois Abney
Condolence: As Lois Coffin, (now Abney) I met Jeanette around 1949 when I stayed with Bonnie Nienhuis and started attending First Reformed. In 1952 Jeanette met Jim and I met Don Lentz and she married first and I second. Through all these years in touch with holiday letters we have kept our friendship and love. I will miss her greatly. God has a new angel to smile at us.

Condolence From: Gordon & Shirley Garnhart
Condolence: We recall many times that we have greeted Jeanette and Jim at first service on Sunday morning as we sat near the back of the sanctuary, and the times that Shirley has chatted with her on the telephone. She was always cheerful and gracious, and we will miss her.
