Hutch

Hutch (because a small girl could not quite manage Hodgkins) was the best neighbor any kid could have growing up and I was the lucky one who got he and Vicki.  The memories are endless.  He bought Vicki a Honda 70 to putt around Oak Harbor but they would let me ride it in the yard.  They would come for Thanksgiving and there was no way a pie looked the same after Hutch cut the pieces as he cut a round piece out of the center for himself first!  He taught me to drive a clutch by backing down the boat ramp at the Seaplane Base, got out the car and told me to drive it up and around that huge parking lot (which is now by the commissary and exchange). I remember Vicki being so mad because he bought fshnet stockings to paint the big motorcycle with (to use as stencils) and she thought they were for her.  When he deployed, we wrote and sent packages.  He brought me trinkets from around the world but also carved the most incredible treasures for me.  The best was a very tiny ball carved into a cage that as the size of a small charm.  I have it on my charm bracelet to this day. Such a big heart that man had.  I loved him so,so much.  He was more than a neighbor, he was family.  Anytime we got together we always were able to pick up rght where we left off. I will always be so thankful and grateful for the role he had in my life.  Rest in Peace Hutch.
