My deepest condolences for the family of Dur and the Oak Harbor and North Whidbey Lions clubs. Lion Dur will be missed by many people. He touched them all with his devotion to Lions and to his community. I became a Lion because of him. He spoke at the Sedro-Woolley Lions 70th anniversary celebration where I was an attendee - not a Lion yet. He gave me his International Director pin, and when I explained I could not accept it because I was not a Lion, he said "keep it, you will be someday". I never forgot this and did join Lions eventually and his pin was the first one I put on my vest. On June 6th of this year he installed the officers of Sedro-Woolley Lions and it was special for me. I shared this story with him and the club that day - the day I became President of my Lions club. I have learned so much from Dur and I am so thankful to have known him. I will miss him. Carol Torset, President Sedro-Woolley Lions
